Peppermint Essential Oil
Another popular, and one of my favorite, essential oils is peppermint (also known as Mentha piperita). Peppermint and Lavender essential oils are combined 1:1 in all of our soaps unless otherwise stated or for the upcoming “build-your-own soaps.”
Peppermint essential has a scent that could be described as minty, like peppermint hard candies, but with a higher concentration level and stronger than spearmint. This is a top perfumery note that’s usually extracted via steam distillation.
Common homeopathic uses for peppermint essential oil include relief from the symptoms caused by vertigo, sinusitis, asthma, exhaustion, migrain headaches and flatulence. Always consult a licensed physician before using this or any essential oil for medical purposes.
The color or peppermint essential oil is usually clear with a yellow tinge. This essential oil should be thin in consistency.
